The meaning of Shirk is to disbelieve in Allah as the only God, the Creator and Owner, Sustainer and to associate anyone with His attributes is a great sin. In the Holy Qur'an, polytheism has been strongly condemned and Tawheed has been emphasized from Hazrat Adam. All the Prophets who came before Muhammad (peace be upon him) called for monotheism and advised them to avoid polytheism while making them aware of the harms of polytheism. The book under review "Safina Najat" is an Urdu translation of Dr. Muhammad Bin Abd al-Rahman Al-Arifi's Arabic work "Arakb Manna" in which the destruction of Shirk has been highlighted.
