Tafseer Ibn Kaseer Urdu (5 Volume Set, Imported)

Tafseer Ibn Kaseer (تفسیر ابن کثیر, Tafsir Ibn Kathir) is the classical commentary of the Quran by Imam Hafiz Imaduddin Abul Fida Ismail bin Umar bin Kaseer al-Dimashqi (701 to 774 AH). This Maktaba Islamia edition presents it in Urdu in five volumes. The translation is by Maulana Muhammad Junagarhi, the research and revision (tahqeeq o nazar-e-sani) are by Hafiz Zubair Ali Zai, and the forewords are by Abul Hasan Mubashir Ahmad Rabbani and Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf. The set runs to 3,570 pages in the 17x24 cm size; Volume 1 covers Para 1 to Para 5.

How Ibn Kaseer explains the Quran

Ibn Kaseer follows the method the scholars count as the soundest: he explains a verse first by other verses of the Quran, then by the hadith of the Prophet ﷺ, then by the sayings of the Sahabah and the Tabi'in, often with their chains of narration and his judgement on them. He also points out the Israeli narrations (Israiliyat) and warns against relying on them. The result is a tafseer built on evidence, which is why it has been a standard reference for madaris and scholars for centuries.
